Overview
The New York State Education Department is the department of the New York state government responsible for the supervision of all public schools in New York and all standardized testing, as well as the production and administration of state tests and Regents Examinations. In addition, the State Education Department oversees higher education, cultural institutions such as museums and libraries, and the licensing of numerous professions. It is headed by the regents of the University of the State of New York and administered by the Commissioner of Education.
Project Scope
The New York State Education Department (NYSED) required Web Accessibility Drupal CMS Consultancy Support expertise for New York State Education Department’s website re-designing to improve its accessibility compliance, appearance, navigation, content, governance, and technology platform.
Solution
The objective of the project included Web Accessibility Drupal CMS Consultancy Support for organizing, writing, editing, and effective web content; information architecture; SEO; web content management; and web analytics for a crisp and interactive flow of the website.
To enhance the website aligned with the business requirements, the above Project was divided into several phases with a streamlined approach. At the start, we gave the much-needed assistance in planning and implementing website updates, including new and existing web content additions, deletions, and modifications using the Drupal 7 Content Management System.
With a strategic approach, we provided day-to-day maintenance of web content for department-owned web content including web pages, videos, PDFs, or other file types as and when they were needed. We also populated content into existing department-approved templates using Drupal 7.
V Group Inc. successfully supported the department in this task by reviewing all the web updates and giving approvals. This task was approved successfully by setting up meetings with the content experts in the various program area offices within NYSED. We also performed accessibility remediation of web content including web pages, forms, PDFs, and Microsoft Office documents, capturing all the needed parameters.
V Group Served as a liaison between Agency and solution’s contract to help the client to ensure complete, accurate and effective web content management and web analytics, in alignment with the business goals.
