SharePoint Enterprise Application Support, PennDOT
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation oversees transportation issues in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The administrator of PennDOT is the Pennsylvania Secretary of Transportation, currently Yassmin Gramian. Presently, PennDOT supports over 40,500 miles of state roads and highways, about 25,000 bridges, as well as new roadway construction, the exception being the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, although they currently follow PennDOT policies and procedures.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation required expert service support on SharePoint Enterprise Applications while adding value for enhancing and streamlining internal business processes and driving business growth.
The objective of the project included but not limited to SharePoint Enterprise Applications' expertise to help enable any enterprise to effectively manage for easing the processes of accessing and managing applications across the entire school landscape avoiding duplication, gaps, and data redundancy. V Group Inc. helped the client in providing end to end Enterprise SharePoint solution for an enterprise as we helped in planning, developing, and implementing for providing MOSS/SharePoint design work, custom development, documentation, and best consulting practices.
Going with the flow, we consulted with customers to identify and implement MOSS/SharePoint requirements, performing cross-training, and facilitating information sharing among team members. Collaborated with team members to recommend new software development technologies and development processes for smooth functioning by understanding the nuances including - designing, development, and implementation along with the documentation, and test changes to an application subsystem. With proper coding, testing, debugging, we delivered high-quality deliverables meeting user expectations on time. Also, we supported the system and integration testing activities adhering to software development standards.
Design reviews for new applications were initiated for proper planning, scheduling, and implementation of the project. Collaborated with a project team for coordinating activities, monitoring project schedules, and costs. Assisted in translating business requirements and functional designs into technical designs by analyzing the business needs, and helped in resolving to mitigate production application issues and specific end-user inquiries.
With proper and systematic documentation of production support processes, long term support issues, and plans for corrective actions were anticipated for timely intervention and resolution of issues. To prevent discrepancies, Root Cause Analysis was done to identify permanent resolutions to software or business process issues ensuring compliance with standards for development, testing, and documentation are met. We worked independently with application development leads and were proactive in managing error resolutions and functional specification inaccuracies. Served as a liaison between Agency and solution’s contract we transformed the business processes in the most optimum way within the stipulated time.
