Quality Assurance Support, NYSIF

Overview

The New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) was established in 1914 as part of the original enactment of the New York Workers’ Compensation Law. NYSIF is a self-supporting insurance carrier that competes with private insurers in both the workers’ compensation and disability benefits markets in New York State.

Project Scope

The State of New York - State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) required Quality Assurance support for modifying in-house developed Worker’s Compensation applications to comply with new WCB IAIABC reporting mandates, helping in system maintenance and enhancements to meet the current business needs.


Solution

The objective of the project included critical Quality Assurance support for the State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) for verifying system performance as expected, in line with the business requirements.

V Group Inc. supported the client and understood the test cases in line with the user requirements and challenges that are presented to the system, as they must be reviewed by the Validation team to ensure smooth functioning of the system. We facilitated the ITS Software Quality Assurance group in augmenting the current NYSIF staff with qualified consulting resources familiar with IAIABC reporting requirements in a timely manner. This was initiated to accomplish the business goals. With a strategic approach, we facilitated the client with their queries and performed the responsibilities with ease.

Going ahead, we facilitated the client in creating, editing, and executing tests as instructed by NYSIF ITS Quality Assurance management. We also worked with NYSIF ITS application development staff and NYSIF business end-users in tandem and performed the responsibilities successfully. Also, we helped with the comprehensive documentation in accordance with the requirements defined by NYSIF IT management and in accordance with the SDLC.

We helped in the creation and maintenance of deliverables with the input.

This was achieved via excellent teamwork, as we helped the client to co-ordinate the work in order by allowing them to interact with the other product teams and other stakeholders.

Served as a liaison between Agency and solution’s contract, V Group Inc. supported the client in planning, implementing, executing, and modifying in-house developed Worker’s Compensation applications, keeping up to date with the latest know-hows and trends.
