Analytical Support, Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission

Overview

The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, or PHRC, enforces state laws that prohibit discrimination:  the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, which covers discrimination in employment, housing, commercial property, education, and public accommodations. The PA Human Relations Commission promotes equal opportunity for all and enforces Pennsylvania's civil rights laws that protect people from unlawful discrimination.  As Pennsylvania's civil rights leader, it is our vision that all people in Pennsylvania will live, work, and learn free from unlawful discrimination.

Project Scope

The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission required analytical support for PHRC’s Legacy Case Management System to assist in reviewing the case records and merging them avoiding duplication, gaps, and data redundancy. The present system needed transition with the new look and feel for getting all the records of an organization in the same format. This process was needed so that the stored data records can be fetched easily, without any difficulty.

Solution

The objective of the project included Business Analysis support on PHRC’s Legacy Case Management System for the stored case-related data. All the Contact Details, Organizations, and Special Service-specific needed attention for streamlining each case either by selecting and/or adding records.

V Group Inc. supported the client and understood the challenges that were present in the existing system. These challenges were reviewed by the team to overcome them ensuring smooth transitioning of the case records.

In the first place, the case records were reviewed and merged, as per the need. Also, in parallel, duplicate records were made inactive, if required.   Post completion of reviewing of the case records, a most appropriate record for Contact, Organization, and Special Service as inserted in the Master record was identified. This exercise was completed successfully after working in tandem with PHRC Intake Attorneys for using proper names of an Organization and other PHRC personnel, if necessary.

V Group also utilized Microsoft guidance and CRM Duplicate Detection functionality for finding the duplicate records based on the matching criteria. And then these duplicate records were merged in the Master record, and duplicate records were marked as inactive. All these data changes were verified and audited once the merge was completed.  As thorough research and review involved PHRC, we supported in conducting this on time, adhering to the standard rules and regulations.

This was achieved via excellent teamwork, as we helped the client to co-ordinate the work in order by allowing them to interact with the other product teams and other stakeholders.

Served as a liaison between Agency and solution’s contract, V Group Inc. supported the client in planning, implementing, executing, and evaluating the project successfully, keeping up to date with the latest know-how and trends.
