Overview

Kaiser Permanente was commonly known simply as Kaiser is an American integrated managed care consortium, based in Oakland, California, United States, founded in 1945 by industrialist Henry J. Kaiser and physician Sidney Garfield. Kaiser Permanente is made up of three distinct but interdependent groups of entities: the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. (KFHP) and its regional operating subsidiaries; Kaiser Foundation Hospitals; and the regional Permanente Medical Groups. As of 2017, Kaiser Permanente operates in eight states (Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Maryland, Virginia, Georgia) and the District of Columbia, and is the largest managed care organization in the United States. Kaiser Permanente is one of the largest nonprofit healthcare plans in the United States, with over 12 million members. It operates 39 hospitals and more than 700 medical offices, with over 300,000 personnel, including more than 80,000 physicians and nurses.

Project Scope

The client was looking for an experienced vendor that can provide Webservices & API testing for its project.


Solution

V Group as a prime vendor participated in the technical design process with the Webservice Architects and Developers on projects and tested web services using SoapUI PRO automated scripts, web services using SDLC best practices. We also participated in all phases of web services system testing, developed, implemented, and maintained quality and tested procedures, processes, and best practices for QA. Our team was responsible to develop and maintain test plans and test cases with associated test data based upon functional and non-functional requirements and identify test automation opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of test services. We contributed to test automation scripting standards and best practices by understanding SOA Reference Architecture and SOA testing requirements. Apart from these below were the deliverables of V Group during the project:

  • Write automation scripts and participate in peer reviews.
  • Develop a repeatable process for designing, developing, and executing scripts.
  • Conduct tests, document and analyze test results, and present findings to development teams.
  • Report and document defects found during test cycles. Participate in defect prioritization sessions.
  • Work with development teams to instill testability into development practices.
  • Provide test services for support activity and work with release management to assure product release quality.
  • Communicate timely status, including any potential risks/issues to the appropriate teams to ensure completion of all deliverables within schedule, budget, and quality constraints.
