Reports Development Support in Oracle, NYDOT
Overview
The New York State Department of Transportation is the department of the New York state government responsible for the development and operation of highways, railroads, mass transit systems, ports, waterways, and aviation facilities in the U.S. state of New York.
Project Scope
The New York State Department of Transportation (NYDOT) required Oracle Reports Development Support expertise for designing, architecting, and guiding the implementation of high-end, scalable, robust applications and solutions using Oracle Forms and Reports.
Solution
The objective of the project included Oracle Reports Development Support for providing architectural direction on all assigned projects for a high profile Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) production application.
To enhance the website aligned with the business requirements, the project was divided into several phases with a streamlined approach. At the start, we gave the much-needed assistance in designing, coding, testing, debugging, and tuning Oracle 10g Forms and Reports programs for an OLTP production application.
With a strategic approach, we provided help in writing Web Services. Also, acted as a mentor in developing the skills and expertise of other IT developers on the team by performing code reviews and suggesting changes, as per the Program and Agency needs. We also made sure that the system architecture integrates well with the hardware, software, data, and procedural system components to satisfy system and business requirements.
V Group Inc. successfully supported the department in this task by reviewing all the project updates and requirements. Provided overall technical vision of various internal and customer-facing software applications. Worked with key stakeholders to understand the business requirements for new/redesigned systems. Articulated and communicated the architecture and key design patterns within the program areas and IT. We also defined the migration and implementation strategy.
V Group served as a liaison between the Agency and solution’s contract to help the client in designing, architecting, and guiding the implementation of high-end, scalable, robust Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) production application, in alignment with the business goals.
