Quality Assurance Support, NYDOH
Overview
The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) is the department of the New York state government responsible for public health. It is headed by Health Commissioner Howard A. Zucker, M.D., J.D., who was appointed by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and confirmed by the State Senate on May 5, 2015.
Project Scope
The State of New York – Department of Health – NYSDOH required a Quality Assurance support to expand access to insurance, increase consumer protections, emphasize prevention and wellness, improve quality and system performance, expand the health workforce, and curb rising health care costs.
On March 31, 2010, President Obama signed a law for the Affordable Care Act (ACA). On April 12, 2012, Governor Cuomo issued Executive Order No 42, establishing the State’s Health Benefit Exchange (the Exchange). New York has developed the New York State of Health for providing easy access to health insurance for New Yorkers.
Solution
The objective of the project included critical Quality Assurance support to work closely with the NYS of Health Marketplace program staff and other stakeholders to assist policy stakeholders with technical requirements review, testing and validation for verifying system performance as expected, in line with the business and client requirements.
V Group Inc. supported the client and understood the test cases in line with the user requirements and challenges that are presented to the system, as they must be reviewed by the Validation team to ensure smooth functioning of the Applications/interfaces/portals.
Primarily, we helped in developing and maintaining testing and defect documentation, as per the project requirements. This process was documented so as to define the what’s, whys and how’s of the applications for testability and comprehensiveness.
Moving further, after understanding business requirements in detail we also helped in evaluating existing manual test cases. Helped in identifying opportunities for automation. Created manual and automated test plans, cases, and scripts to thoroughly test software to ensure proper functioning of the product.
In this project, V Group has Supported the client in analyzing and developing requirements into test conditions for fine tuning Test Management to the changing skill levels and field knowledge. Helped in development and execution of test cases. This was achieved via excellent team work, as we helped the client to co-ordinate the work in order by allowing them to interact with the other product teams and other stakeholders.
Served as a liaison between Agency and solution’s contract, V Group Inc. supported the client in planning, implementing, executing, and evaluating tests and test scripts, keeping up to date with the latest know-hows and trends.
