Overview
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is a public benefit corporation responsible for public transportation in the U.S. state of New York. The MTA is the largest public transit authority in the United States, serving 12 counties in Downstate New York, along with two counties in southwestern Connecticut under contract to the Connecticut Department of Transportation, carrying over 11 million passengers on an average weekday systemwide, and over 850,000 vehicles on its seven toll bridges and two tunnels per weekday.
Project Scope
Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) required a Network Security Consulting Support to modernize their OT environments and to support multiple projects focused on Network Security Architecture and Critical Infrastructure Systems for ICS Security/Security Architecture Group, in line with the project and company goals.
Solution
The objective of the project was to provide continuous Network Security Consultancy Support to Develop, implement and assess network security policies, plans, and procedures, including security architectures, firewall policies, intrusion detection systems, and security data collection systems, aligned with the client’s business goals.
V Group Inc. provided support in Network Security tasks successfully. Primarily, we understood and captured the parameters, and the project was broken down into several components to ease the process of offering quality services. To start with, we investigated, designed, and provided the architecture-specific cybersecurity controls as per the requirement.
With a methodical approach, we helped the client in auditing and reviewing the effectiveness of existing network controls. We also evaluated new security technologies to improve efficiencies, security posture meeting business objectives. Moving ahead, we also established effective working relationships with operational stakeholders to understand their business requirements to help execute their business strategies. V Group’s support assisted in managing the scope as per the project requirement, as we kept on updating ourselves in line with the business requirements and project scope.
Served as a liaison between Agency and solution’s contract and helped the client in providing Network Security Management, aligned with their business’ requirements reducing support overhead.
