Network Engineering, Metropolitan Transportation Authority

Overview

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is a public benefit corporation responsible for public transportation in the New York City metropolitan area of the U.S. state of New York. The MTA is the largest public transit authority in the United States, serving 12 counties in Downstate New York, along with two counties in southwestern Connecticut under contract to the Connecticut Department of Transportation, carrying over 11 million passengers on an average weekday systemwide, and over 850,000 vehicles on its seven toll bridges and two tunnels per weekday.

Project Scope

MTA was looking for network solutions to identify their network issues and accordingly installing, configuring, managing, and maintaining security of all network devices.

Solution

As a prime vendor V Group Inc. conducted troubleshooting exercises to identify network issues using various tools and resolved those issues with the support team. We facilitated the installation, configuration, management, and maintenance of security of all network devices.

V Group executed network implementation activities for multiple short- and long-term projects while adhering to all project management standards and ensured that long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall systems planning of the organization.

Alongside, we assisted in developing network security and related procedures; performing network management activities; periodic network reviews and analysis; development of the network management platform adoption, configuration, and tuning.
