.NET Development Support, NYSIF

Overview

The New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) was established in 1914 as part of the original enactment of the New York Workers’ Compensation Law. NYSIF is a self-supporting insurance carrier that competes with private insurers in both the workers’ compensation and disability benefits markets in New York State.

Project Scope

The New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) required a .NET Development support expertise for thorough analysis, design, coding, component, and assembly testing of all application code in line with the client requirements.

Solution

The objective of the project is to provide continuous development support on the determination and analysis of prerequisites for technical design and application code within a complex enterprise system.

V Group Inc. provided Production support for enhancing EFile and EForm with new features in alignment with the client’s requirements. We helped in adding support for accessing, viewing, and printing multiple documents on a single pdf to present complex technical constructs to business users in an easier manner.

With a methodical approach, the project was broken down into several components to ease the process of offering quality services. In the beginning, development and production support for the in-house Document Management System was done successfully. This was done to ensure the proper and smooth functioning of the involved stakeholders meeting business requirements.

V Group successfully supported the department in this task by capturing all the parameters. Provided day-to-day support for development, maintenance, and registration of form templates, on-line and batch, utilized by NYSIF to produce pdf documents. We supported the client in all the environments: development, test, and production.

In addition, we also provided day-to-day support for job registration and Print Manager runtime for all environments: development, test, and production. Also, Print Manager Code development and maintenance including performance enhancements of enterprise document generation and processing system were done successfully.

Adhering to NYSIF’s application development standards, we also provided support in project management methodology, SDLC (software development life cycle), Enterprise Architecture standards, and the IT governance process. Subsequently, clear communication of the program/application goals, operational and organizational philosophies, and policies and procedures in relation to applications development was completed successfully; V Group’s support assisted in managing the scope as per the project requirement.

Served as a liaison between Agency and solution’s contract and helped the client in designing, tailoring, and developing applications aligned with their business’ requirements reducing support overhead.
