Overview
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is a public benefit corporation responsible for public transportation in the New York City metropolitan area of the U.S. state of New York. The MTA is the largest public transit authority in the United States, serving 12 counties in Downstate New York, along with two counties in southwestern Connecticut under contract to the Connecticut Department of Transportation, carrying over 11 million passengers on an average weekday systemwide, and over 850,000 vehicles on its seven toll bridges and two tunnels per weekday.
Project Scope
MTA was seeking Microsoft Power BI Consulting Services with knowledge of the Power Apps Platform, Microsoft Azure, and Active Directory for the MTAIT Enterprise product group to support the enterprise solution reporting tools provided to their clients
Solution
With our in depth understanding and knowledge of Power BI technologies we were looking after the management of the organization-wide settings that control how Power BI works. As one of the major responsibilities, V Group Inc. was involved in the the back-end Infrastructure Management.
We started off with understanding networking and integrating cloud and OnPrem and eventually helped the client design, develop, and build secure infrastructure for critical systems. To facilitate this, various technologies like, Cloud Technologies, Azure, MS Power BI Desktop, Power BI Premium Capacity, workspaces, etc. were used. Moving further, we troubleshooted Network, firewall, DB, Client, issues and led path for new future technologies and enhancements like Power BI, Power Apps Platform, MS Flows etc.
V Group Inc. worked with other MTAIT Teams (Network, Security, Application Developers, etc.) as needed and supported User Access requests and setting up data source connections.
