Linux System Administration, NYSDOH
Overview
The New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH) is the department of the New York state government responsible for public health. It is headed by Health Commissioner Howard A. Zucker, M.D., J.D., who was appointed by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and confirmed by the State Senate on May 5, 2015. Its regulations are compiled in title 10 of the New York Codes, Rules and Regulations.
The New York State Department of Health is the Cabinet-level Department in the State of New York, which is the governmental body that bears the responsibility for ensuring public health in the State.
Project Scope
The State of New York: Department of Health required Linux System Administration Consultancy Support for configuring, managing Linux systems in a production environment.
Solution
The objective of the project included Linux System Administration Consultancy Support to provide production support for Java apps in a Linux environment for a smooth flow of the project in line with the client’s business requirements.
V Group Inc. supported the client and understood the challenges that were present in the existing system. These challenges were reviewed by the team to overcome them ensuring smooth transitioning of the system.
In the first place, we provided support to develop/support shell scripts for file transfers, system monitoring. Installed, configured and managed off the shelf commercial products within the stipulated time and provided application support.
Moving ahead, with a streamlined approach we facilitated the client assisted with monitoring of the virtual and physical infrastructure. Collaborated with technical workgroups to identify and document server infrastructure needs and prioritize subsequent implementation. This was achieved via excellent team work, as we helped the client to co-ordinate the work in order by allowing them to interact with the other product teams and other stakeholders.
Served as a liaison between Agency and solution’s contract, V Group Inc. supported the client in Linux System Configuration and Administration successfully, keeping up to date with the latest know-hows and trends.
