HP Exstream Consulting, NYS OTDA

Overview

The New York State Department of Family Assistance, also known as the Department of Family Services, is a department of the New York state government. Its regulations are compiled in title 18 of the New York Codes, Rules, and Regulations.

The Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (Office) administers programs for the State’s low-income residents and provides leadership, guidance, and support to local Social Services Districts (Local Districts) and the New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS) in the operation of these programs.

Project Scope

The State of New York, Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) required an HP Exstream consulting Support to modernize the Client Notice Systems (CNS) notices, the team will onboard by utilizing OTDA’s cost of goods sold (COGS) and Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) product, HP Exstream, in line with the project and company goals.

Human Services Cluster Client Correspondence Project (HSCCCP) was developed to modernize client notices with respect to the Rafferty guidelines for relieving local district examiners from the time-consuming task of manually preparing and sending client notices for actions taken on a case. The Client Notice Systems (CNS) produces notices using case and individual information contained in the Welfare Management System (WMS). WMS and CNS currently reside in the OTDA UNISYS 2200 mainframe environment.


Solution

The objective of the project is to provide continuous HP Exstream Consultancy Support to design, development, and associated triggering in HP Exstream with 3 or more end-to-end dynamic document implementations, aligned with the client’s business goals.

V Group Inc. provided support in software/application tasks successfully. Primarily, we understood and captured the parameters, and the project was broken down into several components to ease the process of offering quality services.

With a methodical approach, we helped the client in HP Exstream in designing and developing dynamic notice documents. We also created reports and worked with the print production team/vendors.

Moving on, we also worked with various teams/applications, analysts, and OTDA COGS to onboard mainframe notices to HP Exstream. Also, we kept on updating ourselves in line with the business requirements and project scope.

Served as a liaison between Agency and solution’s contract and helped the client in providing HP Exstream support, aligned with their business’ requirements reducing support overhead.
