Client Background

The State of New York (Office of General Services) aims to establish the New York State Office of General Services as an agile, best-in-class agency recognized for its excellence in providing a diverse set of services to government and taxpayers that consistently meets the highest economic, quality, and ethical standards. 

Project Scope: 

The State of New York (Office of General Services) required a FileNet Consultancy Support in support of the P8 environment for maintaining the workflows, configuring and developing new ones; the design and development of Datacap and IBM Content Navigator.  

The Office of General Services developed an electronic process for the Office of General Services/Business Service Center (OGS/BSC) for Accounts Payable, Credit Cards, Cashier, Purchase Orders, and Human Resource Management. This application encompasses ~60 agencies and ~3,500 users statewide. 
This electronic process is supported by IBM’s P8 Enterprise Content Management (ECM) products. The P8 products include FileNet Content Manager 5.2.1, Content Navigator 3.0.2.X, Datacap 9.0, System Monitor, Case Analyzer, and Records Manager. 

Solution:

The objective of the project included critical PeopleSoft HCM Consultancy Support for the State of New York (Office of General Services) for verifying system performance as expected, in line with the business requirements.  

V Group Inc. supported the client and provided enhancements to the existing workflows and developed new workflows. We also utilized the Process Administrator to triage work items in the Conductor Queue and various maintenance tasks. Helped and worked with the staff in the ECM/Administrative and General Services (AGS) Cluster ensuring the IBM P8 environment is operational in line with the OGS/BSC operations.   

Moving ahead, we also made sure that the agreed ECM requirements are thoroughly implemented within the related timeframe and budget. Also, engaged with the associated teams, be it servers, networks, databases, as well as vendors to respond, identify, and resolve technical issues in a quick and timely manner. 

Also, helped in the development and configuration of Datacap User Interfaces, lookup, task profiles, action libraries, custom actions, validations, verifications and workflows; managed items in the work queue with ease and in a streamlined manner. The administration of IBM Content Navigator was done successfully under the direction of the Manager of the ECM unit within the AGS Cluster. Developed and implemented a plan for knowledge transfer to ECM/AGS Cluster too. With a strategic approach, we facilitated the client with their queries and performed the responsibilities with ease.  

We helped in the creation and maintenance of deliverables with the input.  

This was achieved via excellent teamwork, as we helped the client to co-ordinate the work in order by allowing them to interact with the other product teams and other stakeholders. 

Served as a liaison between Agency and solution’s contract, V Group Inc. supported the client in planning, implementing, and maintaining the workflows, configuring and developing new ones, the design and development of Datacap and IBM Content Navigator, keeping up to date with the latest know-how and trends.
