Designing and Development of Department’s Multi System Integrated Project, NYDOH

Overview

The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) is responsible for public health. It is headed by Health Commissioner Howard A. Zucker, M.D., J.D., who was appointed by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and confirmed by the State Senate on May 5, 2015. Its regulations are compiled in title 10 of the New York Codes, Rules and Regulations.

Project Scope

In July 2014, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature enacted the Compassionate Care Act. This project was supposed to be implementing that law by providing a comprehensive, safe and effective medical marijuana program that meets the needs of New Yorkers. The program was to ensure that medical marijuana is available for certified patients with serious conditions and is dispensed and administered in a manner that protects public health and safety.

Solution

During the project, V Group's team was responsible for designing system architecture and develop system models specifying interactions between multiple systems. The deliverables included software development and maintenance tasks including coding, testing, and implementation.

V Group developed and modified technical as well as design specifications, provided technical writing, and documentation related to the project. We were involved in the development support for web pages and user interfaces as needed.
