The New York State Department of Health is the department of the New York state government responsible for public health. It is headed by Health Commissioner Howard A. Zucker, M.D., J.D., who was appointed by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and confirmed by the State Senate on May 5, 2015. Its regulations are compiled in title 10 of the New York Codes, Rules and Regulations.
The State of New York: NYS Department of Health Medical Malpractice Data Collection System (MMDCS) required Project Management support to track all malpractice claims and related data, in order to facilitate the implementation of new systems or modifications to existing systems.
The current Medical Malpractice Data Collection System (MMDCS), developed in 2002, is an outdated system which places a high burden on DOH staff and the claim reporters, requiring large numbers of staff to manually enter data into the system. The Department of Health has a need to readdress the processes, and systems involved in the reporting of Medical Malpractice claims.
The objective of the project included Project Management Support for identifying needs and evaluating potential business solutions to track all malpractice claims and related data.
V Group Inc. supported the client and understood the challenges that were present in the existing system. These challenges were reviewed by the team to overcome them ensuring smooth transitioning of the system.
In the first place, we provided support on centralized intake for employing consistent investigation criteria and permitting the automated identification of duplicative entries. This allowed the system for a prompt research and retrieval of accurate information from stakeholders, and allowed DOH for providing accurate data reports.
Moving ahead, with a streamlined approach we facilitated the client in creation and maintenance of all project management deliverables with the input of both - contract and DOH project team members.

This was achieved via excellent team work, as we helped the client to co-ordinate the work in order by allowing them to interact with the other product teams and other stakeholders.
Served as a liaison between Agency and solution’s contract, V Group Inc. supported the client in end-to-end Project Management successfully, keeping up to date with the latest know-hows and trends.
