Overview

The North Carolina Department of Transportation is responsible for building, repairing, and operating highways, bridges, and other modes of transportation, including ferries in the U.S. state of North Carolina.

Project Scope

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) required COBOL z/OS Consultancy Support expertise for the State Titling and Registration System (STARS) application for the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles (NC DMV) focused on the implementation of legislative mandates and other major functional enhancements, in line with the business goals.


Solution

The objective of the project included COBOL z/OS Consultancy Support for analysis and design for programming, testing, debugging, implementation, and documentation, aligned with the project scope.

To deploy the elements aligned with the business requirements, the above Project was divided into several phases with a streamlined approach. At the start, we gave the much-needed assistance in planning and implementing project updates, using programming techniques and languages.

With a strategic approach, we provided strong analysis and programming skills. Using COBOL, CICS, DB2, TSO, WEB Service Development, IBM z/OS operating systems, JCL, CA DB2 products, ENDEVOR, SQL, VSAM, Microsoft, we helped the client in resolving highly complex problems. We also assisted DMV application systems, as and when they were needed.

V Group Inc. successfully supported the department in this task by reviewing all the project updates and giving approvals. All the tasks were approved successfully by setting up meetings with the stakeholders for smoothly managing the project. We also led the resources and did application analysis, capturing all the needed parameters. V Group Served as a liaison between Agency and solution’s contract to help the client to ensure complete, accurate, and effective Business Systems Analysis and Management, in alignment with the business goals.
