Analytical Support, Metropolitan Transportation Authority

Overview

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is a public benefit corporation responsible for public transportation in the New York City metropolitan area of the U.S. state of New York. The MTA is the largest public transit authority in the United States, serving 12 counties in Downstate New York, along with two counties in southwestern Connecticut under contract to the Connecticut Department of Transportation, carrying over 11 million passengers on an average weekday systemwide, and over 850,000 vehicles on its seven toll bridges and two tunnels per weekday.

Project Scope

The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority was looking to contract vendors to seek analysis and planning expertise to meet the organization’s business needs.

Solution

The objective of the project included critical Business Analysis support for developing system requirements and verifying system performance to meet client’s interest which in turn should benefit the organization’s business.

V Group initiated system development by understanding and documenting user needs by identifying the problem areas that users were facing with the existing system. This immediately paved way for us to explore opportunities for reengineering.

Upon analysis, our team of qualified professionals began developing alternative solutions along with cost/benefit analyses of these alternatives. We facilitated communications with the programmers during the design, development, and implementation phases of the project to ensure that user needs are being satisfied.

With our solution-oriented approach, we were able to support the client in planning, implementing, executing, and evaluating its business systems.
