The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is a public benefit corporation responsible for public transportation in the U.S. state of New York, serving 12 counties in Downstate New York, along with two counties in southwestern Connecticut under contract to the Connecticut Department of Transportation, carrying over 11 million passengers on an average weekday system wide, and over 850,000 vehicles on its seven toll bridges and two tunnels per weekday. The MTA is the largest public transit authority in the United States.
MTA’s PeopleSoft HCM Pension & Time Keeping Group was seeking a vendor that can perform technical development of various pension requirements that will encompass new programs, retrofit current processes, and enhance existing codes for the implementation of the pension phase two project. Since the pension phase one project went live a few months ago, it was critical to work closely with both functional and technical, teams to satisfy phase two’s technical requirements and make sure they work in full conjunction with the current pension business processes.
V Group as a prime vendor was responsible for the analysis, implementation, and validation of the requirements. Our team verified all the user business/technical requirements for the project. We performed an analysis of business processes and system requirements and developed the best technical solution possible.
Our team of experts designed the technical solution to translate business requirements and processes into well-documented technical specifications, built programs, processes, and objects that supported the technical solutions of the business requirements.
As a validation of the work done we conducted unit testing on the technical application to confirm results and functionality. Later conducted system tests to confirm module impact to the rest of the system. During complete project delivery we adhered to MTA standards by documenting all results of the Technical Design, and Unit Test Plans, in a professional and timely manner, observes the Standard Project Development Life Cycle approach, created all necessary change control requirements to migrate all the affected objects from one environment to another. We also supported and resolved any post-implementation issues.
