The New State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) is responsible for supervising programs that aid and support to eligible families and individuals. OTDA’s functions include Providing temporary cash assistance; providing assistance in paying for food; providing heating assistance; overseeing New York State’s child support enforcement program; determining certain aspects of eligibility for Social Security Disability benefits; supervising homeless housing and services programs; and providing assistance to certain immigrant populations.

Project Description:

The Vendor is required to provide reporting data analysis and advanced reporting capability for the HSC EIM/ Business Intelligence Unit in support of Child Support Data Warehouse project.

V Group’s Deliverables 

V Group has supported the agency in OTDS child Support Datawarehouse and Business Intelligence Report Analytics Project in Program Management & Project Management functional are.

The specific deliverables of the project included but not limited to Providing leadership and Project management guidelines across the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) while coordinating with Project Manager, core technical team and project / business stakeholders.

A core part of the project was to ensure that the business requirement is captured in coordination with various stakeholders, and records all areas of business and system requirement. The requirements gathering process also involved recording the changes in current business process, policies and information systems and the development of new business processes, policies and information system. V Group’s team worked closely with the project stakeholder to create business documentation (Business Requirement documents, use cases, swim lanes, process documentation) that detail the BI requirements and deliverables for reporting structures, reports, dashboards, and ad hoc tools in accordance with the requirements and protocol of the ITS EIM Division. From the technical reporting prospective, V group has worked closely with Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence technical team members and various Agency Business Owners to create Business Requirement documentation to assist in developing logical and physical dimensional data model reporting requirements and providing assistance in understanding the data requirements for proposed reporting.

As a part of Program / Project excellence model, V group has provided recommendations for improves business process to enable the organization to achieve the goal, this was done by coordinating with cross functional teams such as application, technology and enterprise solutions.

V Group has also supported OTDA’s program by creating and executing test scripts, scenarios, and test plans to validate initial business requirements and report output through the DEV, QA and PROD migrations testing for accuracy and sign off on deliverables.
